  Common Myth तुलसीदास द्वारा रचित रामचरित मानस में लिखी गई चौपाई; “ढोल गंवार शूद्र पशु और नारी सब ताड़ना के अधिकारी” आपने जरूर सुनी होगी। इस चौपाई को लेकर लोगों को कई गलतफहमियां हैं। कुछ का मानना है कि अपनी चौपाई के माध्यम से तुलसीदास ने नारी, पशु और वंचितों को दंड का भागी बताया है।  Fact यद्यपि यह सिर्फ एक दावा है पर इस चौपाई को लेकर तरह-तरह के दावे कई सालों से सोशल मीडिया और इसके इतर आम लोगों के बीच अलग-अलग आशय में प्रचलित हैं. रामचरितमानस की इस चौपाई का हर कोई अपने हिसाब से अलग-अलग अर्थ निकालता है और उससे बड़ी बात यह है कि उस आशय को दूसरों के सामने प्रकट करता है और इस तरह कई लोग गलत अर्थ के आधार पर नारी, पशु और वंचित समुदाय के खिलाफ की जा रही ज्यादती को सही ठहराते हैं तो वहीं कई बार इस चौपाई के गलत आधार पर हिन्दू धर्म और इसके धर्म ग्रंथों पर नारी, पशु और वंचित समाज के अपमान का आरोप लगाकर भ्रम फैलाते हैं. यद्यपि तथ्यों की परख के लिए आमतौर पर हम प्रत्यक्ष प्रमाण की गैरमौजूदगी वाले दावों को यूं ही छोड़ देते हैं या यूं कहें कि हम उनकी सत्यता जानने का प्रयास नहीं करते जबकि हकीकत यह है क
